Knowing what the boss wants
A major pharmaceutical company focused on the individual’s personality and potential in its managerial development programme. A profile of requirements for management staff was specially developed for the company. Over 100 members of staff completed the HPI, HDS, MVPI and HBRI. At the same time, their superiors wrote performance reports on these members of staff concerning their professional skills, successes and suitability for promotion. The test results were compared with the performance reports. Candidates whose profiles matched the profile of requirements were three times more likely to be above-average top performers. Their options for development were assessed as higher than those of people whose profiles did not fit.
